Our Promise

HAVEN is built on trust. We believe a survival app should be the last thing that betrays your privacy. We do not send personal data to our servers from free users. No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry. All data you enter, including health and medical information, is stored locally on your device and never transmitted externally unless you explicitly opt into a paid plan that requires authentication.

1. Information We Collect

Free Tier Users

Free users do not provide any personal information to HAVEN's servers. No email, no name, no account is required. All data you enter, including settings, survival plans, supply inventories, and any health or medical information (such as medical conditions, medications, or medical notes), is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive). This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.

Paid Users (Pro, Family, Watch)

When you purchase a plan, you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In. Through this authentication, we collect your email address solely for purchase verification and plan management. HAVEN uses RevenueCat to verify your purchase entitlement. We store only the minimum information necessary: your email address, an anonymous user identifier, and your purchase entitlements. For Family plans, we also store the email addresses of invited family members (provided by the family owner) in Firebase to manage family access. We do not collect your name, phone number, or any other personal details beyond your email.

Data Collected On-Device (All Users)

The following data may be entered by you and is stored locally on your device only. It is never sent to our servers or shared with third parties:

  • Survival plans and scenario preferences
  • Household member profiles
  • Supply inventories and expiry dates (including medicine and medical supplies)
  • Training progress and drill completion records
  • Offline map downloads and saved locations
  • Books you import (e.g. PDF, EPUB), purchased or downloaded by you and added to the app for your own reference. Imported books are stored only on your device and are never uploaded to our servers.
  • App settings and preferences

2. Health & Medical Data

HAVEN is an emergency preparedness app that includes health-related features. This section describes how health and medical data is accessed, collected, used, and stored within the app.

Health Information You Provide

During onboarding or in your profile settings, you may optionally enter health-related information, including:

  • Medical conditions (e.g., diabetes, asthma, allergies)
  • Current medications
  • Medical notes (e.g., power-dependent medical equipment, special needs)
  • First aid and medical skill level preferences

You may also track medicine and medical supplies (e.g., Ibuprofen, bandages, first aid kits, prescription medications) along with their expiry dates in the Supplies feature.

All health and medical data you enter is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage (Hive). It is never transmitted to HAVEN's servers, shared with third parties, or used for advertising. You can delete this data at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling the app.

How We Use Health Data

The health information you provide is used locally on your device to:

  • Personalize your survival plans and readiness recommendations
  • Provide relevant first aid and medical guidance based on your profile
  • Track your medicine supply readiness and expiry reminders
  • Calculate your household readiness score

Emergency & First Aid Content

HAVEN provides first aid guides, step-by-step emergency response instructions (including CPR, wound care, burns, choking, bleeding control, and fracture management), and training drills for emergency preparedness. This content is embedded in the app and delivered offline. The on-device AI assistant may also provide first aid guidance using locally stored reference material. No health queries or first aid interactions are sent to any server.

Medical Reference & Education Content

All pre-downloaded books and survival content in HAVEN, including health, medical, first aid, and general survival reference material, are created by Haven Survival using the Opus 4.6 AI model. This content is provided for informational and educational purposes only. It is not licensed from third-party publishers. You may also import your own books (e.g. purchased or downloaded elsewhere) into the app; those stay on your device and are never uploaded to our servers. Your reading progress and training completion is stored locally on your device.

Plant Identification

The Plant ID feature uses on-device machine learning to identify plants and assess their toxicity, edibility, and medicinal properties. Plant images are processed entirely on your device using a locally stored model. No images or identification results are uploaded to any server.

Health Data Disclaimer

All health and medical content in HAVEN, including first aid guides, in-app reference books (created by Haven Survival, including with AI), training modules, plant identification, and the on-device AI assistant's guidance, is for informational and emergency preparedness purposes only. It is not professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek qualified medical professionals and emergency services when needed.

3. AI Assistant Data

The HAVEN AI assistant runs entirely on your device. Your questions and conversations, including any health or medical queries, never leave your phone. No queries are sent to external servers. No conversation data is stored remotely. If you import your own LLM model, that model runs locally as well.

4. Offline Operation

HAVEN is designed to work completely offline. Maps, books, AI models, medical references, and all core features function without internet. When online, the app may check for updates (version check) and, for Watch subscribers only, fetch real-time threat data from our servers.

5. Watch Service

HAVEN Watch subscribers receive real-time threat monitoring data from our servers. This service uses external APIs (USGS, NOAA, news aggregators) to provide alerts. Your location preferences (region settings) are used to filter relevant alerts. We do not track your real-time GPS location.

6. Bluetooth Mesh

The family mesh communication feature uses Bluetooth Low Energy for device-to-device messaging. Messages are transmitted directly between nearby devices and are not routed through any server. We do not store or have access to mesh communications.

7. Authentication & Third-Party Services

HAVEN uses Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple for authentication. Sign-in is only required when you purchase a paid plan (Pro, Family, or Watch). Free users are never required to sign in or create an account.

Third-party services used by HAVEN:

  • Google Sign-In / Apple Sign-In: Authentication for paid users only; provides your email address for account management
  • RevenueCat: Purchase verification and entitlement management
  • Firebase: User authentication data and family member management (paid users only)
  • Apple App Store / Google Play: Payment processing
  • Amazon and other retailers: We may include referral links (e.g. Amazon Associates) so you can find and purchase authentic books or gear. We do not receive or store the content of any books you buy; purchases and your data on those sites are governed by their privacy policies.

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. No health or medical data is shared with any of these services.

8. Data Storage & Security

All local data, including health and medical information, is stored using Hive encrypted local storage on your device. We do not maintain a central database of user health information or personal data. Family plan data (email addresses and entitlements only) is stored in Firebase with security rules preventing unauthorized access.

9. Children's Privacy

HAVEN includes a Children's Corner with age-appropriate content. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The Children's Corner content is stored locally and does not require any personal information.

10. Data Deletion & Your Rights

Since we store minimal data on our servers, most privacy rights are inherently satisfied.

  • Local data: Delete all locally stored data (including health data) at any time by clearing app data or uninstalling HAVEN.
  • Account data: Paid users can request deletion of their account and all associated server-side data (email, entitlements) by contacting us at privacy@havensurvival.com.
  • Data portability: Since all personal and health data is stored on your device, you have full control over it at all times.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of HAVEN after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
